Sarasota waterfront real estate is beginning to move once again, reports the Herald Tribune. Traditionally, those with money in search of a luxury Sarasota waterfront home were not prohibited by market fluctuations; however, this recent economic hit was so insidious that even these seven-figure properties were affected. Over the past few weeks, $3 million homes have been moving rapidly. Since May, five houses sold from Longboat to Lido Key and another ten Sarasota waterfront homes are in the process of closing. Even though Florida has lost 1% of its population this year, people are still flocking to the sunny shores of Sarasota.

Sarasota waterfront home buyers are getting some great deals right now too. Many opulent luxury homes are selling for as much as $900,000 below list price, although still double what previous owners paid for them in 1997. These figures show how much the Sarasota waterfront has appreciated over the past decade. “There is a chance this house could be worth less a few years from now, but I think there is a greater chance it will be worth more,” says one optimistic Sarasota waterfront real estate buyer from Omaha, Nebraska, who had been in search of “beach property” for a long time.

The Sarasota waterfront real estate is truly breathtaking. Bayfront estates offer Southern charm and private boating docks.
